History of Isha(Coimbatore)

The Isha Temple's central and most unique feature is the Dhyanalinga, consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev in 1999 after an intense process of Prana Pratistha lasting over three years. The Dhyanalinga is not a traditional deity but a powerful energy form designed to induce deep meditative states and silence in visitors without requiring prior meditation experience. It represents a perfect energetic being capable of self-sustaining its energy for thousands of years. The linga, made of alchemically solidified mercury (rasalinga), stands about 13 feet 9 inches tall and is considered the tallest such linga in the world.
