Pazhamudir Solai, also known as Pazhamudhircholai, is the sixth and final Arupadaiveedu (holy abode) of Lord Murugan, located about 25 kilometers north of Madurai atop a lush, densely forested hill. Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple, located about 25 km north of Madurai atop the Solaimalai hill, is one of the six sacred Arupadaiveedu (holy abodes) of Lord Murugan. The temple’s foundation is believed to have been laid in the 7th century AD by Cheaman Perumal, a ruler from Kerala.
